Photo Rejuvenation

Many patients wish there was a safe, easy and quick way to get rid of their red complexion, fine wrinkles, irregular pigmentation and large pores. Fortunately, advanced Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology enables us to treat these skin imperfections safely and effectively. With early intervention and new anti-aging techniques most people can prevent aging and maintain youthful skin and facial appearance.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation was designed to combat the effects of aging and damaged skin in a softer, gentler way than traditional ways of skin resurfacing, such as lasers and peels. IPL energy is delivered at specific settings for each treatment to maximize results and stimulate the production of collagen. As the new collagen forms, it softens the appearance of aging skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are decreased, and the redness associated with rosacea can be dramatically reduced by 80 to 90 percent in several treatments.
Photo facials work best in conjunction with a regular skin care routine that is recommended to you by our medical aesthetic director or treatment consultant.

FAQs
What is Photo Rejuvenation?
Photo Rejuvenation or photo-facial is a generic term for a skin treatment that uses some form of light-based technology. These treatments have a number of different uses but are mostly used for boosting production of collagen or treating various skin conditions such as brown spots, broken capillaries, facial redness and others.
How does it work?
Using the principle of selective photo-thermolysis, IPL treatments target different chromophores in the skin, which selectively absorb the laser or light energy as heat and yield the desired response. These optimal wavelengths of light clear vascular and pigmented lesions by targeting the chromophores of hemoglobin (for vascular lesions) and melanin (for pigmented lesions). These damaged lesions are then cleared by the body, removing the appearance of the lesion from the skin. Pigmented lesions undergo a mild desquamation and slough off within two or three days, while the vascular lesions blanch and then resolve within 10 to 14 days.
What areas can be treated?
Photo Rejuvenation can be performed on most parts of the body. But the most common areas treated are face, hands, arms, and chest.

What conditions can be treated?
- Red, flushed faces
- Sun-damaged skin
- Hyperpigmentation
- Enlarged pores
- Facial capillaries
- Fine lines and wrinkles
Is it safe?
Yes. Advanced light systems have been used safely for millions of treatments worldwide. These systems treat only the targeted tissues, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. However, some redness may occur.
How soon will I see results?
Improvements are gradual and become more and more visible after each treatment. For most patients, a series of 3 to 5 treatments is appropriate. For other patients more treatments may be required.
What results can I expect?
After only one treatment, your skin will have an even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will fade, pore sizes will shrink, and fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment. Patients with rosacea will see a progressive decrease in redness with every treatment.
How frequently do I need IPL Photo Rejuvenation?
Treatments are applied at three-week intervals initially, and then repeated as needed.
